Canyonlands

Canyonlands

Brand: Insight Vacations

In 2019 led and art directed a video and photo shoot in southwest America. The aim was to capture new footage and images for Insight Vacations' 2020 Enchanting Canyonlands trip launch. I worked closely with our US team to plan and structure the shoot, before flying out to direct the 6 day production. The team included 6 models, a videographer, photographer, driver and Team America lead.

Content was used on the company's website, marketing collateral, social media channels and brochures.

We started in Scottsdale before shooting at the following locations:

  • Sedona

  • Grand Canyon

  • Monument Valley

  • Lake Powell

  • Zion National Park

  • Interviewing Geologist Tim Wilson at the Grand Canyon. Read more here:

  • Heading to Monument Valley Tribal Park to meet Navajo Local Experts. We explored these beautiful landscapes with our guide, learning more about the history, culture and heritage of the Navajo Nation.

  • Capturing Lake Powell and a float trip down Colorado River.

  1. Key moments

Grand Canyon

At the Grand Canyon we took sunrise photos of the models hiking before getting footage of them interacting with a geologist.

Monument Valley

At Monument Valley we met up with our Navajo guide, Larry. He took us on a tour of the land, introduced us to local delicacies and played traditional Navajo music for us. This was captured on camera and used to present what guest’s might experience when they head on a Canyonlands trip. It was my personal highlight of the shoot.

2. Behind the Scenes

Lake powell

We actively sought UGC content on all trip shoots and asked guests to share their travel experiences with us. This included moments as highlighted below at Lake Powell.

Zion National Park

At Zion National Park we had to navigate our shoot around guests, many of whom were happy to be included in the photography.

We captured the models “hiking” through Zion National Park and we also captures travel shots of the area, this included breathtaking night sky images.
